Minimum Requirements:
- Be in possession of a Matric / Grade 12 Qualification or Equivalent
- Have proof of residence
- Be physically able to perform the relevant duties
- Have knowledge of relevant legislation in respect of the Mine Health & Safety Act
- Exhibit good oral and written communication skills in English
- Be prepared to uphold good housekeeping standards
- Be prepared to do shift work and to work extended hours on an ad hoc basis
- Be declared medically fit for the position and the environment, as determined by the risk based medical examination at the relevant Gold Fields Occupational Health and Safety Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening Test

Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Production Assistant is responsible for moving ore
- Transporting material, equip, clean and support working area safely and cost effectively in order to make his contribution towards the achievement of set production targets.
- Furthermore he/she is also responsible for repairing minor breakdowns and does basic maintenance on his/her equipment.
- He/she also assists with tasks such as early morning examination
- He/she also assists artisans and aides with major breakdowns
- Planning, organising, coordination and controlling of his responsibilities is carried out on a shift basis (very short term)
