INTRODUCTION

Grindrod Fuelogic is looking for a suitably experienced National Technical Manager to join their dynamic team. The above mentioned vacancy exists within our Maintenance department. The successful incumbent will be accountable for the management and control off all fleet maintenance nationally and in neighboring countries.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Vehicle Maintenance

• Maintains standards, policies and procedures
• Compliance and all regulatory requirements are met and adhered to at all time
• Fleet standards are maintained at all times
• Maintains a greater than 90 percent fleet availability
• Breakdowns and defects repairs are repaired to the required standard, with minimum downtime on fleet
• Root causes are addressed to reduce costs

Financial Management and Cost Control

• Evaluates and approves maintenance related purchases
• Analyses maintenance expenditure and costs in terms of targets and budgets and takes necessary corrective actions
• Ensures costs are controlled and remain within budget

Resources and Facilities Management

• Inspects and audits maintenance facilities
• Audits and selects contractors and suppliers
• Monitors use of maintenance vehicles

Compliance

• Ensure that all related safe working procedures, standards and legislative requirements are adhered to
• Ensures that staff and third-party contractors comply with all relevant working procedures, legislation and customer site requirements.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12
• Qualified Technician with trade test certificate and management training certificates
• Minimum 5 years in maintenance with an additional 5 years’ experience in maintenance management

• Effective asset management and care
• Optimized utilization of resources
• Maintenance and financial reporting
• Strong report writing skills
• SAP MM experience advantageous
