The purpose of the Security Officer: People and Process Monitoring is to monitor the workplace in order to detect criminal acts and illicit activity which may have a negative impact on our interests and/or result in loss of revenue due to theft, misappropriation and damage to assets as well as any incidents which could jeopardise the safety of the our people.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Perform real time surveillance on personnel during their interface with the product during cleaning, sorting, valuing, pricing and selling processes.
- Perform focused surveillance activities directed at the detection of physical process anomalies as well as suspicious practices by individuals.
- Review video alarm/event data gathered by the Video Management System, assessing which alarm were valid unauthorised movements, and/or suspicious activity of personnel whilst performing their tasks.
- Monitor and evaluate the diamond process and operating practices remotely by means of CCTV cameras to identify vulnerabilities.
- Ensure comprehensive, accurate reporting and reliable interpretation of observations.
- Ensure optimal system utilisation to maximise the effectiveness of the security measures and enable early detection of possible indicators of theft and/or unusual activity.
- Participate in cost saving initiatives and adhere to financial procedures.
Qualifications:
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification at NQF level 4 (National Certificate) in Security management or recognised equivalent
Role-Specific Knowledge and Experience:
- Surveillance experience in CCTV monitoring environment
- Knowledge of application of operational, focussed and specialised surveillance techniques and methodologies
